I have been a little slow/uninspired to get a “springy” desktop wallpaper made. However, now that the sun is shining and the forecast is looking up, here it is – a new freshen up for computer desktop! The image is from a new mini series of flowers I am currently working on. I will post images of those here soon. Click the small image below to download the large size picture.

On your phone, just touch and hold on the photo for about a second and a menu will pop up with the option to save or copy the picture.

The saved images are automatically placed in the default Photos app under an album called “Saved Photos.” From the Photos app you can use it as your iPod’s wallpaper.

This weekend I have a show at a shop in Fort Collins called Akinz. It is a really hip apparel store. And, the best part? She takes a design of my artwork and makes it into a limited run t-shirt. For the shirt, I created a family crest of sorts. My new series of artwork (which is still a secret….shhh…) involves letting Lucy work along side me and incorporates her drawings into my paintings – the series will be called “Kingdoms”. For the shirt, I wanted to have a little whimsy so I had Lucy draw one rabbit and I drew the other. It is a juxtaposition of old and young, of the wonder of childhood with the beauty of aging, of polish and freedom.
If you would like to have me save you a shirt let me know your size and color and I will get one for you!

As well as the shirts, I also convinced Suzanne, the owner and screen printer extraordinaire, to let me add in another little funny project I have wanted to do for years. Hopefully this reference is not too obscure, but one of my favorite Calvin & Hobbes strips is this one where he puts on his “Rocket ship underpants” and then has a bad day….

After reading the strip as a kid, I always wanted my own pair of lucky rocketship underpants. Thanks to Suzanne, my vision has been actualized! These are the perfect thing to wear to that important job interview, to add a spring to your step, help woo your secret crush, or just to take your day to the next level. I think everyone needs a pair of these. They probably have real magic powers…

My wife and I have video’d our kids dancing as soon as they could groove. There’s just something about capturing their untiring joy (not to mention all that sass).

Recently we had the idea- what if we asked our friends and family to send videos of their kids getting lost in the rhythm too? Little 15 second or so clips of sheer, physical joy. And we could string them together in a simple video. The process would be fun and we’d have a blast putting something together that would make all our hearts beat quicker for happiness.

Here is a new poster design I have been working on for the High Plains Library District. It is for their Taste of Art Fundraiser. The theme is “A Midsummer Nights Dream.” I really love how it turned out. Because I like seeing where artists get their inspiration, I thought I would also share my two jumping-off-point images (which I totally found on pinterest and don’t know their actual source, sorry!)

These adventure days  have been so much fun! In January we hid “reflective” jars in the winter woods. In February we set up letter writing stations. And now?

Adventure Day #3: Greeley Isles of Green: A treasure map escapade.

Here is a treasure map created just for you.

The game? To  collect a series of letter clues, hidden in the specific locations in the parks. Once they spell the secret message then you head to John Galt Coffee CO for your prize. First prize is $50 cash. No joke. The next prizes (2- 15) wins a bag of treasure!
